I have been interested in posing nude for an art class or photographer for a while. Through the net I found a local photographer that wanted to gain some nude photography experience. I went there yesterday a little nervous as I have never done this before and it turned out alright. After a few minutes, we both relaxed like it was nothing out of the ordinary.

This morning I received a reply from an art student looking for a model for their drawing class. I set up to go on Tuesday.

I have modeled nude.. In fact.. my photographers in El Paso, Las Vegas, Austin/Round Rock and Miami tell me I should expand my horizons.. I feel if people want to express themselves through there bodies in photo's then more power to you...

I used to run a life drawing open studio once a week and when the model did not show up I would cancel class. After a while I got tired of canceling class so I started modeling for it. I also do outdoor nude photography so I have done modeling exchanges. I have modeled for female models , who were also artists, for their paintings/drawing in exchange for them modeling for my photography. It worked out well.

i did some nude modeling to make some extra money while in college.
i modeled for both art and photography classes but preferred the photography as i could move and did not have to hold poses for lengths of time. arousal was a problem at first but after a few classes it became routine. there was one photo shoot where there were four of us (2 men and 2 women) doing group shots.the other guy and i remained hard but professional throughout. the happy ending is that one of the women became my longtime companion and we have two beautiful sons ages 20 and 22. needless to say, nudity has been our way of life ever since.

I've been posing for art classes, and the occasional photo' or video session, for more than 15 years now...
I would expect models to be paid $15 -> $20 an hour for drawing/painting sessions, with a typical class running around 3 hours; and maybe $100 or more [or some payment in kind: i.e. some photos..], for photography sessions (as these tend to be shorter and less frequent)..
There is plenty of on-going discussion on this topic over in the Forums section, for more information.

Dear Jack Wilson. Sorry but that sounds sad. If you don't wish to be seen, nor to be voluntarily decapitated before posing, then don't bother unless you find an artist who's work is a single commission going directly to a private collector. While we can't all be publicly militant nudists; such is society; we needn't cow-tow to those who'd describe us as miscreants or freaks on the fringe of society. If you can't do it, don't, clear the field for those who are prepared to stand up for the cause, and show any artist or art student that the human body is an object of interest, not to be hidden in the dark corridors of secret societies. Furthermore, prevaricating doesn't advance anyone's problems with nudity, nor does it help anyone inhibited to overcome that.
In any case, life-art is about nudity, not nudism. More exposure of the former might, but can't be proven to help the latter.
Did anyone understand that ??
Not sure I do now :)) LOL

"Life art modelling" as nude modelling is now referred to in "newspeak" (how Orwellian are we getting I ask??) is as old as art itself.
Modern feminists will refer to the "emasculated human form of the female body being used as a source of voyeurism and pornography for the pleasure or interest of the male spectator", however, ancient art (the Greeks, not the Neanderthals) depicted males nude and more often females clothed. That too, feminists will explain by the prevalence of homosexuality in ancient Greek culture. We can speculate and analyze endlessly. The simple fact is that for anyone learning art, a nude is part of the most basic portfolio. After my 1st nude summer in Spain as a college student, I posed nude for modest pocket money for art classes at a Lancashire community centre. Mainly retired people actually, but even if it had been a class of giggling schoolgirls I'd not have cared. If you are shy of your body being seen, then you are not truly a nudist. Posing for an hour or so was inherently boring, and you can get stiff (no, i dont mean erect) as well as chilled, so I learned to see it just as a time to meditate, and as a nudist - who cares how many people see you - they've seen varied male bodies in art across the spectrum of civilised history.

Hi i am in brussels and can pose for nude photography only when sure that my real details cannot be revealed, nor my face. i know this is not correct because wat is the point if face of the model is not seen :(. But that is the way i am!

Thanks to TMALLE for his information on Nude Modelling.
Perhaps knowing that the Pratt Institute and other centres could be seeking models is from first hand experience. As Tom will be aware, to be a model you do not need to have a so called 'Perfect Body' rather an 'Interesting one'

One problem though, TOM will need to TAKE HIS CLOTHES OFF if he decides to give it a go.

A good figure model can make upwards to $100 an hour, depending on the photographer she works with. Let me know if you're interested in learning more and I'll fill you in.

I've posed for some photographs (as you may have guessed) and posed a couple of times for sketches. It seems to me that you aren't really naked, until someone has seen you naked.

I received my first request from the local art college to pose later this month. They have a number of assignments, all of which will last at least 3 hrs. I have agreed to an afternoon life drawing class. I'm a little nervous as I havn't posed for a group before and not for that long.
